Situated within the garden of artist collective The Colour Factory, this project provides a workshop for the delivery of classes for the local community.

Driven by an extremely challenging construction budget, the 25m2 building relies on a minimal use of inexpensive materials to maximum effect. The building is comprised of a timber and plywood structure clad in translucent colorful polycarbonate panels. Apertures in the plywood provide pools of colored light during the day, and glowing circles of color to the exterior at night.

Shortlisted for Architects' Journal Small Projects Award 2009
